1. Introduction and Definitions

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the JOHNCOMPUTERS LTD website and the purchase of our products and services. By accessing our website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms.

• "We", "us", "our" — JOHNCOMPUTERS LTD, a company registered in England & Wales (Company No. 17226886).
• "You", "your" — the customer, user, or visitor of our website.
• "Website" — johncomputers.co.uk and any associated subdomains.
• "Products" — physical goods sold through our website, including computers, peripherals, components, and networking equipment.
• "Services" — software development, consultancy, and other professional services we provide.

2. Use of Our Website

• You must be at least 18 years old to make purchases on our website.
• You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account or placing an order.
• You must not use our website for any unlawful purpose, including hacking, distributing malware, or infringing intellectual property rights.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we suspect misuse, fraud, or violation of these terms.

3. Product Information and Pricing

• All prices are stated in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable.
• Prices are subject to change without notice. Changes will not affect orders already accepted.
• Product descriptions, images, and specifications are accurate to the best of our knowledge. Errors and omissions excepted (E&OE).
• If we discover a pricing error after you have placed an order, we will contact you as soon as possible and give you the option to reconfirm at the correct price or cancel the order.

4. Orders and Acceptance

• Placing an order constitutes an offer to purchase. We are not obliged to accept your order.
• Order confirmation sent to your email address constitutes acceptance of your offer, at which point a legally binding contract is formed.
• We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order for reasons including: pricing errors, stock unavailability, suspected fraud, or failure to meet eligibility criteria.
• If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, we will provide a full refund to your original payment method within 14 days.

5. Payment

• Payment is processed securely via Stripe, which accepts major debit and credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
• Payment is due at the time of order for digital products and services. For physical goods, your card will be charged upon dispatch.
• All payment information is encrypted and handled in accordance with PCI DSS standards. We do not store your full card details.
• If payment fails or is declined, the order will not be processed. We may contact you to arrange an alternative payment method.

6. Delivery and Shipping

• Standard delivery: 3–5 business days. FREE for orders over £50; otherwise £4.99.
• Express delivery: 1–2 business days, £9.99.
• Delivery times are estimates and not guarantees. We are not liable for delays caused by courier services or events outside our control.
• Risk of loss or damage to goods passes to you upon delivery to the specified address.
• If goods are lost or damaged in transit, please contact us within 48 hours of the expected delivery date.
• Currently, we only deliver within the United Kingdom (Phase 1).

7. Software Licenses and Digital Products

• Software licenses are delivered digitally via email, usually within 1 hour during business hours (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM GMT).
• The use of licensed software is governed by the terms of the software publisher (e.g., Microsoft, Adobe). You must comply with their End User License Agreements (EULAs).
• Digital products (downloads, license keys) are delivered electronically. No physical delivery will occur.
• Please ensure you check system requirements before purchasing software. We are not responsible for incompatibility with your hardware or operating system.

8. Returns and Refunds

• As a consumer, you have a statutory 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 for distance sales.
• Returned products must be unused, in their original packaging, with all accessories and documentation included.
• Software licenses are non-refundable once the license key has been delivered, unless the license is defective or non-functional.
• Custom or bespoke software development services are non-refundable once work has commenced, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
• Faulty goods: you are entitled to a full refund or replacement within 30 days of delivery.
• To return an item, contact us at ukjohncomputers@gmail.com. We will provide return instructions and process your refund within 14 days of receiving the returned goods. Refunds are issued to the original payment method.

9. Warranty

• All physical products are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. We pass on the full benefit of these warranty terms to you.
• Our liability for any defective product is limited to the purchase price of that product, except where prohibited by law.
• Warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, unauthorised modifications, accidents, normal wear and tear, or failure to follow manufacturer instructions.

10. Intellectual Property

• Software licenses grant you a limited, non-transferable right to use the software in accordance with the publisher's EULA. You do not acquire ownership of the software itself.
• For bespoke software development, ownership and licensing terms are specified in the individual project contract or proposal.

11. Limitation of Liability

• To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of our website or products.
• Our total liability in connection with any order is capped at the total amount paid by you for that specific order.
• Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for: death or personal injury caused by negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
• Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

12. Force Majeure

We will not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from events outside our reasonable control. These events include, but are not limited to: natural disasters, floods, fires, earthquakes, pandemics, epidemics, strikes, lockouts, labour disputes, wars, terrorist acts, riots, supply chain disruptions, government actions, or failures of public or private telecommunications or utility services.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

• These Terms & Conditions and any dispute arising from them are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
• Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
• If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you may also bring claims in the courts of your home jurisdiction.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The latest version will always be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of our website after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. For material changes, we will notify registered customers by email where possible.
